The critical first steps in getting any ingredient into a new target species or a new feed matrix is to understand how it behaves in a new species and in a new format. At Aseno we guide you in the steps needed to understand these fundamental studies. We can deliver in vitro and in vivo models from lab based to full scale studies to understand your ingredient of food. With our extensive global network, we can deliver commercially relevant, regulatory robust and scientifically important results. Our services include:

  • Formulation from simple snacks to complex multi-ingredient feeds, ensuring they meet appropriate regulatory and biologically relevant targets.
  • Determining technical functionality of your ingredient and confirming its applicability in any feed matrix, giving you confidence in entering a new market with your product
  • We can assess the palatability and acceptance of your new ingredient or food in a range of animal models to help determine appropriate inclusion levels and long-term acceptance of your product in the market. At Aseno we can overcome palatability issues by proposing options such as palatants or taste masking technologies to mitigate aversive behaviours.
  • After confirming its acceptance and the appropriate inclusion level, we will determine the digestibility of the main components of your ingredient or feed using a range of approaches. We have access to in vitro models such as artificial guts and INFOGEST to test your product prior to conformation in an animal model. We have access to a range of study sites for aquatic and terrestrial animals to determine in vivo digestibility.
  • Direct interpretation and translation of the results into PDCAAS or DIAAS-like scores help support the inclusion of your ingredient in the feed industry.
